Why do we feel we have the right to choose who we give love to?

Lately God has been making it so clear the judgment I cast on others every single day. From the strangers in line at the store, to people sitting in traffic, to someone I may be just introduced to, to even my family and friends, I continuously find myself assuming and projecting stories onto them.

The deeper I looked into this I realized, wait there is a common denominator here.. And that is me!! I am always there.

And what if these judgments had nothing to do with the other person? What if these were my own stories that needed to be revealed and looked at.

Now this moment at first created a lot of resistance, because when we judge, we automatically think it is about the other person, but I am the one withholding the love, I am the one not coming from compassion, creating the negative story and projecting.

In the end we are all doing our best every single day, and yes that may look different for each of us, but we still can practice compassion towards each other and come from a place of love.

Why do we feel we have the right to choose who we give love to?
