How to Feel Alive in the Mundane
When do you feel the most alive?
I was on a call with a mentor of mine and this question literally stopped me in my tracks, I had this feeling wash over me that a lot of my day to day has become a little muted, a little mundane. Content, calm, but alive is not a word that comes to mind..
I realized a lot of the things, when I felt most alive, I've stopped doing this past year…
So instead of just saying “oh we are in a pandemic I will just have to wait..” I got clear with myself - no more waiting, I will not let days pass by without doing things that make me feel alive anymore, so I came up with a list. A list of the things I can start doing now that make me feel the most alive.
Toes in the sand and the cool ocean breeze on my face
Warm sun on my skin
Going on a run and starting to sweat
Calling a friend and laughing over nothing
Sharing vulnerably with my partner
Going on a drive with the windows down and my hand feeling the air move through my fingers
Watching the sunset
Going on a hike and standing on top of a mountain looking out at the world
Having a dance break in the middle of the day
Watching my husband perform opera
I’d love to know - when do you feel the most alive?
